Global Sporting Organisation | Visual Learning Strategy

THE CHALLENGE
As a globally recognised brand delivering one of the world’s most celebrated sporting events, our client found that their information’s value was being diminished by its format.
They had developed a learning strategy that was detailed, thoughtful and built to scale. At the heart of the approach were two central tools: a Capability Framework that defined the organisation’s critical learning areas, and a Learning Activity Planner that mapped how those capabilities would be rolled out across different levels of the workforce.
This learning plan needed to support a highly diverse audience, from executive leadership to operational teams, each with different needs and levels of access. The content had to be engaging, easy to navigate, and directly aligned with the broader organisational vision.
What was missing was a delivery format that brought the strategy to life. The existing presentation contained the right information, but the structure and visual flow made it difficult to absorb. It needed to become a functional asset — one that could communicate clearly, travel well across formats, and help audiences quickly connect their role to the bigger picture.
STRATEGIC APPROACH
We began by focusing on the people this presentation was built to serve. It needed to make sense at first glance, guide the viewer with clarity, and allow different audiences to quickly find the information most relevant to them. Whether it was an executive leading strategic rollouts or a new employee navigating their onboarding, the format had to work without explanation.
The Capability Framework and Learning Activity Planner were the foundation. These elements were already doing the heavy lifting in terms of structure and content. Our job was to make them easier to engage with. We gave them clear visual distinction, improved flow, and reorganised supporting content around them to enhance overall coherence.
We then refined the presentation’s sequence. Content was restructured to follow a more natural narrative, with consistent pacing and thoughtful grouping. Slides were cleaned up and aligned to a cohesive hierarchy, helping the eye move through the material smoothly and with purpose.
Design decisions were always rooted in function. Typography, spacing and layout were used to support comprehension and focus.
IMPACTFUL DELIVERY
The final presentation delivered on its purpose. It supported the content without overpowering it and gave the learning strategy the clarity it needed to succeed.
- The Capability Framework and Learning Activity Planner are now easy to navigate and reference, allowing leadership to access and share key information quickly.
- Information is presented in a clean, structured flow that helps viewers understand and act on what they see.
- The visual consistency of the slides improves readability, strengthens delivery, and keeps attention where it should be – on the message.
- The overall design reflects a sense of preparedness and alignment, reinforcing confidence in the strategy and those responsible for driving it forward.
This project shows how much of an impact strategic design can have when it’s used to sharpen focus and improve functionality. With the right structure in place, the learning plan is not only more accessible, but also more impactful across the organisation.
