This retail giant entered the competitive grocery delivery market, directly challenging established household brands in South Africa’s growing online grocery sector. The pandemic and shifting consumer preferences accelerated this trend. The core challenge lay in training staff in distribution centres’ picking and packing service lines. They needed to master process management and achieve high accuracy and efficiency in grocery deliveries to meet customer expectations.
