WHY
At a remote mine, a resources operator needed tighter collaboration with site stakeholders. Dispersed teams and complex operational questions slowed decisions and increased risk. Clear, visual communication was essential to reduce risk and keep production on plan.
The brief was to define implementation scope, signal technical credibility, and socialise new processes and systems. Success meant faster alignment, closer fit with strategy, and reliable adoption across contractors and crews.
HOW
VSLS led a co-design process with site
leaders to turn operational data into decisions. Principles were; audience clarity, evidence before aesthetics, and one story across channels. Visuals were aligned to risk,
time and cost.
A modular narrative linked scope, process
and outcomes for reuse across sales,
change and training. On-site testing
confirmed comprehension. Techniques included 3D context views, simplified schematics and interaction cues
to fit constraints and reduce rework.
WHAT
The work delivered a modular 3D visualisation deck mapping site to task. Animated sequences, stills and segmented overlays clarified scope, risks, and hand-offs. Used in sales and change forums, it shortened scoping discussions and reduced rework, shown by fewer clarification loops and leaner logs.
Stakeholders reported clearer decisions and faster sign-off. The deck now anchors training buildouts and speeds updates through a reusable asset library, exceeding sponsor expectations on clarity.
