Viva Glint approach to recognition
WHY
In a tight European labour market, the client saw engagement tightening performance. Viva Glint highlighted recognition (whether people feel seen and valued) as the key driver.
Research links recognition to motivation, retention, and lower burnout. 80% of employees say they would work harder if they felt appreciated. The challenge was to embed recognition through change management, so habits stuck, lifting the employee experience and the business.
HOW
VSLS shaped a people-focused, data-led strategy with an analytics partner, blending Viva Glint sentiment with Viva Insights on collaboration, tuned to the client’s rhythms. Linking recognition to real behaviours let leaders target friction and reinforce moments that drive engagement.
Guided by the ACT framework—Acknowledge, Collaborate, Take one step forward—the work focused on repeatable habits. Narratives and manager touchpoints made expectations visible. Lightweight prompts in daily tools nudged action, and live metrics shaped iterations.
WHAT
The programme made recognition everyday practice. VSLS equipped managers with toolkits, added employee prompts, and trained teams to use Viva Glint and Viva Insights. Rollout targeted high-impact teams to build momentum and model behaviour.
Early signs are strong as participation is rising, sentiment is improving, and managers use the toolkit in touchpoints. Impact will be confirmed in the next Viva Glint cycle, with recognition and engagement metrics tracked to guide iteration.
